elas care
like a wise grandma for your mental health
Human-first and science-backed mental health care.
We’re on a mission to de-mythify brain science while simultaneously treating people as human-beings. It’s our job to know the research so you know your options.
How we work
We anchor on your strengths and partner to reveal your inner wisdom.
We start by understanding your well-being history and meet you where you are.
Convenient home base for medications and therapy.
We want you to be yourself, let your hair down, or if bald–pretend.
What's different about the Elas approach?
We strongly believe in the power of comprehensive assessment and diagnosis. There are countless options to access mental health today. What often gets lost is the full picture of a person's history. Our entire goal is to simplify your mental health care (and your life) by truly taking the time to understand what your symptoms feel like on the day-to-day, and gain clarity on the root cause of where symptoms are coming from. If you have a long history with mental health, this may mean we take 2-3 visits to deep dive into diagnosis, and not rush the process. If you're ready to commit to root-cause healing beyond band-aid fixes, we're your people.

It is our privilege to help.
Our Services
-
Therapy
This is therapy that actually feels like someone is in the room with you. Expect live clapping for life wins, “big hug feedback” when necessary, tears and tissues, and the occasional self-growth care package in the mail.
(Virtual Video or Phone; in-person available to those in Portland or Lake Oswego on a case-by-case basis)*Available to those Ages 18+
-
Medication Support
Here’s what most people don’t know: Some medications work for some people and not for others. If you’re going through the trouble of taking a medication everyday, let’s make sure it’s customized to you.
*Available for those Ages 5-64
-
Assessment and Diagnosis
A comprehensive 90-minute history and diagnosis (with prescription medication if appropriate). At the core of mental health is better understanding ourselves. We utilize a conversational assessment approach and move through a thorough diagnostic process to best understand your wiring. We’re all wired a little differently, and when we know how we’re wired, we can spend our lives working with that wiring rather than against it.
*Available for those Ages 5-64
-
Therapy Kick Starter
This is a ½ or full-day (your choice) intensive therapy kickstarter where we’ll work to move through blockages and get clear on a pathway forward in therapy. Whether you continue therapy with us or not, you’ll leave a kickstarter with clarity on patterns no longer serving you, and where to focus your energy in ongoing therapy.
*Available virtually and in-person to those Ages 18+
-
Space and Flow Consultations
You see the physical space around you before you see your own face in the morning. Physical space can be incredibly important to the way we feel and heal. We’ll visit your space and help actualize how you want to feel when you’re in it.
(For those in the Portland metro area)*Available for youth, adult, and family spaces
-
Family Coaching
If you’ve read the articles, listened to the podcasts, but find your family needs more hands on, in-the-moment support, we’ve partnered with seasoned family coach Katy Schlahta (known to us as the “Child Wizard”).
*Available in-person for those in the Portland metro area and virtually to others
A little about Elas
I’m Victoria Sale, the founder of Elas Care. I’m a public school teacher turned mental health nurse practitioner with a career-long focus on how people heal.
The feeling of being in a boisterous home, with fresh pasta hanging everywhere, filled with laughter and genuine conversation is what I wanted to bring to the mental health space— “a wise nonna for mental health.”
The Elas approach is one of genuine connection so people can show up as the most authentic versions of themselves, and tap into their existing inner strength and capacity to heal.
Elas is “Sale” (my Italian last name) spelled backwards and honors my dad— a deeply authentic and undeniable cool soul, who died suddenly in his last semester of nursing school.
In his honor, human-first mental health care is and always will be a non-negotiable for us.
Background and credentials
Victoria is a high school science teacher turned Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She co-created an Obama Innovation Award Winning community-based care model, grounded in principles of authentic healing relationships, which catalyzed her career-long focus on healing. Her patients provided the space for her to unlearn many of the paternalistic frameworks providers often exude. She now believes in the power of activating a person's existing inner capacity to heal, and getting in touch with one's core self as the basis for change.
Credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Simmons College, Boston, MA.
Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA
Post-Master's Certificate to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Northern Kentucky University, Highland Park, KY.
She completed her nurse practitioner clinical hours within the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine system in Springfield, IL.
Her primary clinical mentor was (and still is) Dr. Mary Dobbins, who holds triple board certifications in Pediatrics, Child, and Adult Psychiatry.
